Countryside gardens

Countryside gardens offer many opportunities for creative and visually strong photography but also require careful planning because of their scale and complexity.
In my photographs I focus on the connection between the planting, the architecture, and the surrounding landscape, highlighting the design that shapes the space.

Why Every Season Matters

While many countryside gardens are photographed in spring and summer, autumn and winter offer the chance to create valuable seasonal images. Large gardens often look stunning in autumn colours or when touched by frost in winter. This gives an opportunity to show how the space changes across the seasons, keep your business active and visible during the quieter months, and provide useful material for end-of-year communication, especially during the festive season. Are you thinking about organising a shoot in the quieter months but worried it might be difficult to arrange? Please get in touch and I will explain how I work.

Spring and Summer shoots

Spring and summer are the most popular times for garden photography. Fresh growth, colour, and long days create ideal conditions for capturing the energy of the planting and the full expression of the design. These months are perfect for photographing flowering borders, establishing views, and showing the garden at its most vibrant.
Since this is the busiest time of year, please consider planning these shoots in advance.
